Foiled

He forms an alliance with the wise owl, the diligent mongoose and the practical roadrunner, to realize a dream of overthrowing the gorilla from his reign of terror. Everyone gathered at the Owl's home, where the team toiled day and night, tirelessly planning out their coup and stratergies for the assault.

There was a lot of things to be done, a lot of kinks to work out. Nothing should go wrong, and their spirit were high. They purchased weapons and equipment they think crucial for their scheme, and with some gathered materials they made even more weapons.

Today is the chosen day for the confrontation ... yet on the battlefield, the team's defense faltered. Weapons once taught flawless now failed to work. It was raining ... and everyone's equipment were drenched. Everything went haywire ... and the situation became chaotic. They crossed eyes with the gorilla, but decided they can't take him on on that day ...

He wondered why all the other team's stratergies worked well, but not his ... despite the fact that his team has put in so much effort into planning and organizing. Is it the spider omen the night before, or is it because of the roadrunner's absence for a while due to some personal matters. The owl commented that it's easy to blame ... and he's right. We should move on ... it's everyone's fault if need be. We just have to do it better the next time.
